IBIS II Study
Integrated Biomarker Imaging Study 2 was a one year, 300 participant, international, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group trial of darapladib in subjects with angiographically documented coronary heart disease. The study's main objectives were to determine the effects of darapladib on composition and biomechanical properties of atherosclerotic plaque, as well as circulating inflammatory biomarkers. Glaxo Smith Kline was the sponsor of the study. Volcanos grayscale IVUS and VH® IVUS derived key vessel volumes and measurements from baseline and at one year follow up. Results of this study were presented on September 2, 2008 at the European Society of Cardiologists (ESC) in Munich, Germany.
